The Infrastructure Your Business Runs On —
Built Right From Day One.

Layerix designs and deploys server, storage, and virtualisation infrastructure — private cloud, NAS & SAN, virtual machines, and containerisation — installed and configured entirely by our certified in-house engineers.

40%

of server outages are caused by poor capacity planning and under-spec'd hardware — not hardware failure.

Day 1

is the only time infrastructure is easy to get right. Retrofitting a poorly designed server room costs 3× more than designing it correctly from the start.

Your servers and storage are not an IT cost — they are the foundation your applications, data, and operations run on. Layerix designs and builds that foundation to last, scale, and perform — with complete in-house ownership at every stage.

End‑to‑End Process

1

Infrastructure Assessment

We audit your current server, storage, and network environment — documenting capacity, utilisation, age, and failure risk before recommending anything.

2

Workload Analysis & Design

We map your workloads to hardware requirements — compute, memory, storage IOPS, and network throughput — then design the right platform for your needs today and 3 years from now.

3

Hardware Selection & BOQ

Vendor-neutral selection — right server, right storage, right rack. BOQ documented and approved before procurement.

4

Physical Deployment

100% in-house team. Rack mounting, cabling, power, and cooling — done cleanly and documented.

5

OS & Platform Configuration

Operating system, hypervisor, storage platform, and management tools — configured to your documented requirements.

6

Data Migration

Existing workloads migrated with zero data loss — physical to virtual, old hardware to new, with a tested rollback plan.

7

Testing & Handover

Failover tested, backups verified, monitoring configured, and admin team trained before handover.

Why Layerix

🏗️

Design Before Deploy

Capacity planning, architecture diagrams, and hardware specs are agreed on paper before a single server is racked.

🚫

Zero Subcontracting

The engineer who designs your infrastructure is the engineer who installs and configures it. No third party, no exceptions.

📋

Full Documentation

Network diagrams, IP allocation, credentials, RAID configuration, and VM inventory — all delivered at handover.

🔌

Infrastructure + Networking as One Scope

Server, storage, and network from the same team — no coordination between separate contractors, no gaps, no blame.

⚙️

Vendor-Neutral Recommendations

Dell, HP, Lenovo, SuperMicro, Synology, NetApp — we recommend what is right for your workload and budget, not our margin.

🔄

AMC & Ongoing Support

Firmware updates, hardware replacement, capacity reviews, and incident response under annual maintenance contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you supply the hardware or only install and configure?
Both. Layerix can supply and install, or install hardware you have already procured. We are experienced with Dell PowerEdge, HP ProLiant, Lenovo ThinkSystem, SuperMicro, Synology, and NetApp — and we recommend the right platform for your workload and budget.
What is the difference between a physical server and a virtual machine?
A physical server is dedicated hardware running one operating system. A virtual machine (VM) is a software-defined server that runs on a hypervisor — sharing physical hardware with other VMs. Virtualisation allows multiple independent workloads to run on a single physical server, reducing hardware cost, power consumption, and rack space significantly.
What is the difference between NAS and SAN storage?
NAS (Network-Attached Storage) connects to your network and serves files — ideal for shared file access, backup, and archive. SAN (Storage Area Network) presents storage as a block device directly to a server — ideal for databases, VMs, and applications requiring high IOPS and low latency. Layerix deploys both, and advises the right choice for each workload.
Can you migrate our existing servers and data to new hardware without downtime?
Yes. We plan every migration with a tested rollback path. For VM migrations, vMotion and live storage migration allow workloads to move with zero downtime. For physical-to-virtual (P2V) migrations, we schedule cutover during a maintenance window — typically over a weekend — with all data verified before the old system is decommissioned.
What is a private cloud and is it better than a public cloud like AWS?
A private cloud is on-premise infrastructure managed like a cloud — self-service VM provisioning, automated scaling, and a management portal — but hosted in your own data room. It is better for: data sovereignty requirements, latency-sensitive applications, predictable cost, and environments where data cannot leave your premises. Public cloud is better for variable workloads and global reach. Layerix specialises in on-premise private cloud — not public cloud reselling.
What is RAID and why does it matter?
RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) distributes data across multiple drives so that if one (or more) drives fail, data is not lost. Different RAID levels balance performance, redundancy, and usable capacity differently. We configure the correct RAID level for each workload — not a one-size default — and document it at handover.
Can you deploy backup and disaster recovery as part of the same project?
Yes. We design backup and DR as part of every server deployment — not as an afterthought. This includes on-site backup to NAS, off-site replication, snapshot schedules, and recovery time objective (RTO) testing. A server without a tested backup is not a server — it is a risk.
What is containerisation and do we need it?
Containerisation packages an application and all its dependencies into a portable unit (container) that runs consistently on any infrastructure. It is appropriate for organisations running modern applications, microservices, or development pipelines. If your team deploys software regularly and wants consistent environments from development to production, containers (Docker / Kubernetes) are the right architecture. We assess your workload before recommending.
How do you handle server room cooling and power during a server deployment?
We coordinate with your facilities team on power load, UPS capacity, and cooling airflow before deploying hardware. We do not rack servers into an environment that cannot support them thermally or electrically. For new server rooms, we provide a physical infrastructure checklist before hardware procurement.
What ongoing support do you offer after deployment?
AMC contracts covering firmware updates, hardware health monitoring, capacity reviews, and fault response. Break Fix for one-off incidents. Resident Manager engagements for enterprises requiring dedicated on-site support.
What certifications do your engineers hold for server and storage deployments?
Our team holds certifications across VMware, Microsoft, and vendor-specific platforms. Our founder holds 20+ certifications including cloud and data centre credentials, and has designed infrastructure for AWS, Google, Facebook, and major Indian banks.
Do you work outside Bengaluru?
Yes. Layerix is operationally active across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, with the capability to serve clients across all Indian states.
